4. Community HIV/AIDS education via drama

Community education via drama performance is the most applicable and convenient methods of spreading HIV/AIDS education in Tanzanian society due to historical and cultural background of our communities.

 Considering on the similar facts, KIHUMBE has established top of art/professional drama group focusing on the provision of relevant HIV/AIDS education including serving other community strategic social, political, and commercial requirements.

The group has 22 members including 4 trained and experienced teachers all working on part time basis, and they can perform traditional dances, acrobatics, brass band, choir, theatre art and musical band respectively.

Since established the group has won many best drama performance awards at various levels including, district regional, zonal and national, and for the past two years they are national traditional dance champions.

Due to its high quality performance and experience, it has been attracting many local and foreign single artist and groups coming to learn and share experience on the same field.

Six (6) local and two (2) foreign groups attended coaching session for this year 2006.
